1.1 These General Terms and Conditions (hereinafter “GTC”) of CIA – Central Information Agency s.r.o., ID No. 21512540, registered office Plzeňská 3352/156, 150 00 Prague 5, entered in the Commercial Register kept by the Municipal Court in Prague, Section C, Insert 403032 (hereinafter the “seller”), govern the rights and obligations of the contracting parties arising from a purchase contract concluded via the online store at ciasecured.cz, ciasecured.com and ciasecured.de (collectively the “online store”).
1.2 These GTC do not apply where the buyer places an order in the course of his business; in such a case individually agreed terms apply.
1.3 Provisions in the purchase contract that differ take precedence over these GTC.
1.4 The purchase contract and the GTC are drawn up in Czech.
1.5 The seller may amend the GTC unilaterally; the new version applies only to orders placed after the date of its publication.
3.1 After registration the buyer gains access to a user interface (“user account”); an order may also be placed without registration.
3.2 The buyer must provide truthful and up-to-date information and keep his credentials secure. The seller may cancel the account, especially if unused for more than two years or if contractual obligations are breached.
3.3 The user account may not be available continuously (maintenance, outages).
4.1 The presentation of goods in the online store is for information only and is not an offer within the meaning of § 1732 of the Civil Code.
4.2 Steps to conclude the purchase contract:
4.3 The seller is not obliged to conclude a purchase contract with persons who have previously materially breached their obligations.
4.4 The buyer bears his own costs for means of distance communication.
5.1 Prices shown with goods are final (including all taxes and fees). For discounts we also show the lowest price in the last 30 days. The price is valid as long as displayed.
5.2 Payment methods:
5.3 Cashless payment is due within 5 business days of order confirmation.
5.4 The purchase price is paid when the amount is credited to the seller’s account.
5.5 The seller does not require an advance payment; he may, however, require payment before dispatching the goods.
5.6 Discounts and coupons cannot be combined, unless a specific promotion states otherwise.
6.1 Goods are delivered via GLS ParcelShop (pick-up point) and GLS Courier (to address). Current shipping prices and COD surcharges are shown on the “Shipping & Payment” page.
6.2 We usually dispatch goods within 2 business days, at the latest within 30 days (for a longer period the buyer must expressly agree).
6.3 The buyer must inspect the goods on receipt and immediately report any packaging damage to the carrier.
6.4 If the buyer fails to take delivery and the parcel is returned, the buyer pays the actual carrier costs for redelivery.
7.1 A consumer buyer may withdraw from the contract without giving reasons within 14 days of receipt of the goods.
7.2 The withdrawal is sent by e-mail or post using the form (Appendix A) and the goods are dispatched back within 14 days of that notice.
7.3 The seller refunds the purchase price including the cheapest offered shipping within 14 days of withdrawal, but not before receiving the returned goods or proof of dispatch.
7.4 The direct cost of returning the goods is borne by the buyer.
7.5 Returned goods must be undamaged and clean; the seller may reduce the refund according to § 1833 of the Civil Code to reflect diminished value caused by excessive use.
Detailed rules and procedures for claims are set out in the separate document “Returns and Refunds Policy”, which forms an integral part of these GTC and is available on the online store.
A consumer buyer may claim a defect within 24 months of receipt; during the first 12 months it is presumed that the defect existed on delivery (§ 2165 Civil Code).
The seller provides no voluntary (commercial) guarantee beyond statutory rights.
Reviews in the e-shop are not systematically verified. A review marked “verified purchase” is published only from the automatic e-mail sent after completion of the order.
Processing of personal data is governed by the separate document “Privacy Policy”.
11.1 The Czech Trade Inspection Authority (www.coi.cz) is competent for out-of-court settlement of consumer disputes.
11.2 The EU ODR platform can be used at https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
13.1 Legal relations are governed by Czech law.
13.2 The purchase contract is archived electronically and is not publicly accessible; the buyer may request a copy by e-mail.
13.3 These GTC enter into force on 12 May 2025.
